Before There Can Be Retribution, There Must Be an Afterlife

First off let me say, I didn't even start out planning to review this movie, but as soon as it started the witty commentary came to me so I had to write about it. Now as per usual I don't want to spoil the movie for anyone, but sometimes accidents happen and plot points might be given away (ie if a character were to die in a rather comical way) so for those who don't want any chances of having the movie spoiled avert ye eyes and don't read on after the jump.

So since when is the character only in the first two minutes of the film
poster worthy?

Fear for the Future

I just quickly wanted to update you with what some of the awesome stuff that I will be doing February will be.

First of all I'm going to be going to the WORLD PREMIERE of A Little Bit Zombie (okay so its at a film festival and I bought a ticket, but still). Words cannot describe the excitement I feel. There were crackly squeals of joy coming from me if that helps you imagine my sheer joy. In fact, just so that you can share my excitement here is the trailer (and here is a link to their website):

My next bit of exciting news is that my birthday is coming up, and I have figured out how I am going to celebrate it. I am going to watch my 200th horror film, which means I really need to get on watching over 20 of them by then. If you have any ideas of which movie I should use for this momentous occasion please leave it in the comment section below.

On Friday the 13th I Took a Shining to you.

HEYO! So did you have a great Friday the 13th, because I certainly did. The evening started off with catching up on the episodes "Deathday Cake" and "Two Girls One Tongue" of Todd and the Book of Pure Evil. And I'm not just talking about this show because it is Canadian, I am talking about it because it bleeds pure awesomeness like a slain Dragon of Awesometude pierced with a battle axe of badassness. Just to prove that they go the extra mile "Two Girls One Tongue" was even a ROCK OPERA! Yeah, they went there, and with great success.
Girl on the far right, that's how I get my hair cuts done. I call it the Jenny.

After I caught up with my favourite students at Crowley High I continued on to meet up with some friends and go to a midnight showing of The Shining. Now while this wasn't my first time seeing this classic film it turns out I had never seen it in it's entirety, that could have been easily predicted since the first time I saw it was on TV and usually that never bodes well for a quality screening. So it turns out I had never seen at least the first 15 minutes of the movie and I was more than just a little embarrassed about that, but not as embarrassed as I was by the fact that it took until a couple months ago to see the original Dawn and Day (you know the ones I'm talking about).  Our cinematic experience started off with a one man show with an invisible typewriter which was very well rehearsed and highly entertaining. That was followed by some trivia, where I learned a new fact. Did you know that it took 3 takes to film the scene with the blood spewing from the elevator? Well now you do, and knowledge is power. And if you want knowledge of what happens in this movie continue reading, otherwise BE GONE!

Holidays Can Be Horrific (2011 Year End Summary)

Alright, now that everyone is back at work/school, time to get back to writing about weirdness. I took a break during my break to spend some quality time with my screen play (which contrary to popular belief is not a romantic comedy). Here is some of the most terrorific things I did this holiday season.

My New Years Eve was spent at the release party for the pilot episode of the awesome webseries (I happen to be apart of) called 4Villains. Watch this EVIL pilot by clicking here. I have two New Years resolutions this year 1) to make new friends in the city I live in and 2) to watch enough horror/sci-fi movies that come out in 2012 to be able to compile a Best of and Worst of list.

Earlier that day I had a small celebration of Halloween in December with one of my closest friends. To celebrate we made Gingerdead Men and watched the hilarious and awesome Norwegian film Trollhunter, which was one of the best found footage films I've seen in a long time.

Another exciting thing that I did last year, it feels so strange saying that, was I went with another one of my closest friends to my first ever metal show. I will assure you that pits were moshed and heads were banged. The band we saw was Deckard Cain at a bar called The Cambie... where apparently my parents met (I wonder if metal bands played there back then).

Oh I also did an awesomely creepy photoshoot with another one of my very close friends, so here are some of the eerie images:

Now I am about to start bragging about my schveet Christmas/Jul swag after the break. So if you don't want to be jealous stop reading now.
